What it is

A machine technique that places very fine hair strokes using a single ultra-fine needle. It gives a similar look to microblading but is generally gentler on the skin and holds better in skin types where manual strokes tend to blur.

How it works

The machine places pigment in controlled, repeatable strokes with less surface disruption than a manual blade. That makes it a common choice for oily skin, mature skin, or anyone whose previous microblading faded quickly.

Good fit for

  • Oily skin, where manual strokes often soften quickly
  • Mature or thinner skin needing a gentler approach
  • Anyone wanting hair-stroke definition with better longevity

Suitability is assessed individually at consultation. Some treatments are not appropriate for everyone.

Your treatment journey

  1. Consultation covering shape, colour, your daily look and anything in your medical history that affects suitability.
  2. Shape and colour mapped and agreed with you before any pigment is used.
  3. The appointment itself, with numbing applied throughout.
  4. Healing over four to six weeks, during which the colour changes considerably.
  5. A touch-up appointment at around four weeks to refine the healed result.

Results and what to expect

Strokes soften as they heal and the true result appears at four to six weeks. Longevity typically sits between microblading and powder brows, and varies with skin type and sun exposure.

Safety and common effects

Most people notice some of the following. They are temporary and expected rather than a problem:

  • Swelling and tenderness for one to three days
  • Colour appearing much darker and sharper than the final result for the first week
  • Flaking and patchiness between days five and ten
  • A period around week two to three where the colour looks too light before it settles

Aftercare

Keep dry as instructed, do not pick flaking, avoid swimming, saunas and heavy sweating, and keep the area out of the sun while healing.

Common questions

How is this different from microblading?

The look is similar, but nano brows use a machine and a single fine needle rather than a manual blade. It is generally gentler on the skin and often holds better in oily skin.

Which should I choose?

Your practitioner will recommend one at consultation based on your skin, your existing brows and how previous work has healed.

Does it hurt more or less?

Most people find it comparable or slightly more comfortable than manual blading. Numbing is used throughout.

How long does it last?

Usually longer than microblading on the same skin, though it still varies considerably between individuals.

Can it correct old microblading?

Sometimes. Existing work has to be assessed first — send photographs or come in before booking.
